1970年畢業 — 商道敎授

Roger Luk enrolled at St. Paul’s College Primary School in 1960 as a fourth-year student, graduating sixth form from the College in 1970. He joined Hang Seng Bank in 1975 and was its managing director and deputy CEO from 1995 until his retirement in late 2004. Post-retirement, Luk remains a non-executive director across organisations such as the Urban Renewal Authority and i-Cable Communications.

Luk is particularly enthusiastic about Hong Kong’s bettermen, and has served on the Legislative Council (appointed, 1992–95) and on multiple governmental advisory committees, including the Hong Kong Broadcasting Authority and the Central Policy Unit. He was appointed JP in 1999 and awarded the BBS in 2004. Luk is also an active educator, serving on the councils of our College and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), as well as Hang Seng University’s board of governors. He has taught at the University of Hong Kong as an assistant professor and at City University as an adjunct professor, and he is currently an adjunct professor at CUHK’s Business School.

Such varied achievements were, in part, down to what Luk observed as St. Paul’s emphasis on versatility. As a former scout, chorister, and drama club member, Luk notes that such extracurricular activities taught him skills that set him up for life, from knot-tying to teamwork to improvisation to problem-solving.
