As we all know that the year 2016 is a historical and significant milestone as it is the 165th Anniversary of our beloved Alma Mater - St. Paul's College. By any standard, 165 years is a long time and not many schools have such a heritage.
The goal of this Heritage Trail is to record the history and heritage of St. Paul's College, the oldest Anglo-Chinese school in Hong Kong and the first school founded by Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui (Hong Kong Anglican Church). The Heritage Trail bears witness to the development of our College through evolution not revolution while representing the cultural identity of our College. It forms our collective memories providing a sense of continuity and belonging. It also enables us to protect and preserve our past. Conservation of our irreplaceable heritage is the inheritance of our College treasures to be passed on to the future generations.
Heritage is the fruit of culture and history. It not only reflects the historical facts but also carries our emotions. As an alumnus myself, the Heritage Trail brings back many memories of those good old days. I have indeed left many foot prints during my thirteen years at the Bonham Road campus.
History has not yet come to an end. History has no end so long as there is someone here to think about it. We are all proud of our College's traditions and heritage and I would like to thank those who have made contributions to this Heritage Trail.
Let us all get to know our College's glorious history more as we look forward to the future. Take a voyage along our Heritage Trail and discover a wealth of history.
