Upon the celebration of the 165th Anniversary of the founding of St. Paul’s College, it is prime time to tell our story. The story of St. Paul’s College is part of the history of Hong Kong, a fact which every student of St. Paul’s should be aware of, and a story that should be make known to more people living in our fair city. To gain insight into the development in the future, we should first embrace our past.
Heritage is intangible. Yet it is evoked every time the College Song is sung. It grows further still every time the alumni gather. Most people who have been part of St. Paul’s College will not hesitate to acknowledge our proud heritage. I have been with the College for a few decades and I feel strongly about the heritage which has been built through the years, or more than one and a half century, to be more precise.
The Heritage Trail is an attempt to gather tangible items that would elucidate the past, and bear witness to how our heritage has been cultivated through time. As you examine the artefacts on this trail, we hope you will understand the pride we take in presenting our history.
The Heritage Project is an ongoing process. The St. Paul’s College Foundation is proud to be part of it. As we go through the many artefacts assembled over the years, we are reminded of the many contributions our alumni have made to the development of Hong Kong as well as the many alumni who never forgot their alma mater and made generous donations to allow further improvements in the facilities of the College. Let me take this opportunity to thank each and every one of our donors who have made this possible.
