“If you want to understand today, you have to search yesterday.” - Pearl Buck

The Heritage Trail, with its various checkpoints representing the different milestones in the long history of St. Paul’s College, is much more than an attempt to search the past. The past is certainly fascinating to look at - old and yellowed photographs of beautiful structures and buildings long gone, of stern looking people, once kicking and alive as much as we are, long departed. Yet, history has left us more than just traces in the form of photographs and artefacts. These events and people that make up the history of St. Paul’s College not only define what we are and who we are, but also shape the common values that are held dear to our hearts. They bear witness to the fact that while we are made by history, we in our own small and collective ways also help to make the history of St. Paul's College.

I applaud the dedicated team of teachers, students, former teachers and alumni volunteers who made the Heritage Trail possible. Of particular mention is Mr Geoffrey Emerson, our former Vice Principal, for providing the much needed consultancy work. Acknowledgement must also be given to our Head of History Department and Integrated Humanities Department, Ms Flora Wong, who is really the soul behind the whole project.

I invite you all to explore the St. Paul’s College Heritage Trail and reminisce with us. As we listen patiently to the voices from the past, may we be inspired by the faith and dedication of those who came before us to chart a new course for St. Paul’s College.
