前衞敎育家

Timothy Ha is an educator and former legislator. He served as our tenth principal from 1968 until 2006, and as an appointed legislator from 1991 to 1995.

As principal, Ha introduced limited co-education into the sixth form in 1970. The same year, St. Paul’s began a collaboration with the Ebenezer School, admitting visually impaired students. The College added a swimming pool in 1978, and the South Wing was nearing completion at the time of his departure.

Ha ensured St. Paul’s and its students were adequately equipped to face the future, purchasing computers for the library in the early 1980s and introducing Mandarin classes as early as 1985, one of the first secondary schools to do so. 1995 saw our first study abroad tour, and in 2002, Ha initiated our Global Classroom programme — overseas study trips — which have become a mainstay in College life, except during periods of global pandemics.

Ha worked to foster unity and belonging in the College. Since 1971, the College has celebrated its anniversary every five years. In 1975, Ha reintroduced the College’s house system.

In addition to St. Paul’s, Ha has served in key positions of education in the Sheng Kung Hui and continues to serve in a consultative capacity.
