Pioneering Paulines

David Leung was the second headmaster of St. Paul’s College Primary School from 1970 to 2001, overseeing its relocation to Hill Road in 1993.

Leung was au fait with the Sheng Kung Hui (SKH) from a young age and was an alumnus of St. Paul’s English PM School (now St. Mark’s School) and New Asia College. As headmaster, Leung placed emphasis on his students’ English abilities. He set the Primary School on a distinct yet complementary course relative to the College, adapting the pre-war eight-class curriculum: teaching fully in English by Primary 5, preceded by two years of gradual transition.

In addition to his educational work, Leung’s other passion is social work. He once edited the English edition of Echo, an SKH journal. In 1999, Leung chaired the Central and Western District’s Schools Liaison Committee, and he has also done teaching work for the Chinese YMCA. He was awarded the Medal of Honour in 2000.

梁松波在一九七〇至二〇〇一年間任聖保羅書院小學校長，於一九九三年領小學遷至山道。

梁氏出身自聖公會家庭，畢業於聖保羅英文下午校（聖馬可中學前身），後入讀新亞書院。梁氏對學生英文要求特別高，在任校長期間，用心鞏固小學教育方針和理念，沿襲戰前英文書院八級舊制，訂立在小三局部轉用英文，小四增加使用英語，到小五全面使用英語教學，以銜接中學部授課。

除致力辦學，梁氏又任聖公會期刊《敎聲》英文編輯，在一九九九年任中西區學校聯絡會主席，又曾效力中華基督敎靑年會，一生服務敎會及中西區，於二〇〇〇年獲頒特區榮譽勛章。
